Well it was your birthday.   You should have looked in the backyard.   We buried Uxbridge and Colin put up a shopping mall there.    I wouldn't buy the stuffed bears, though.   :-)

It's my birthday! (Well, not today it isn't -  it was a few days ago - and Lynda, nobody asked for your opinion.) 

As I'm travelling in the UK at present I thought I would celebrate by doing something indulgently silly I've wanted to do for ages: a walk around Uxbridge to look at any of the (few?) remaining sites that might have appeared in 'Press Gang'. 

To cut a long story short, it was a bit of a bust: the walk from Uxbridge station was further than I thought, google maps took me in the wrong direction (in the cold :-) and, once I'd ended up in a bunch of dead ends at the back of a new housing estate, I gave up in frustration and took the bus back to where I'm staying. 

Suggestion: perhaps some knowledgeable local might be able to update the little that is out there online about locations-around-Uxbridge? I found some information on the website for this list, though it was a bit out-of-date, and a map would have been hugely helpful. I don't know when I'll be back this way again, and I was pretty bummed to miss out. On my birthday. :-)
