Lynda: Colin, I want the books. And I don’t want to hear how they’ve been eatenby your cat, or how they were stolen by a robbing band of deranged accountants.Or how the recent stockmarket collapse in New Guinea has rendered the figuresmeaningless in a very real sense!

 Colin walks into his office and shuts the door.

 Lynda:  Iwant the books now!

 The door opens, and Colin hands her the books.

 Lynda: (wide-eyed) You’re giving me the books?

 He shuts the door again. She stares down at thebooks in astonishment. 

 Cut inside Colin's office. He clears the spacefor himself violently, then sinks down in the chair dejectedly. Lynda comes in.

 Lynda: Don’t think you fooled me for a minute, I want the real books!
