Lynda:  We’ve been running the Junior Gazette foralmost a year. We’ve done so with virtually no assistance or advice.

Kerr:  That was always the deal.

Lynda:  And I’m not objecting to it. The point I’mmaking is that we’re solely responsible for the Junior Gazette’s currentsuccess, both in term of its sale figures and its local prestige. So how can itbe reasonable for us to be fired from what’s rightfully ours? To be replaced bythe next bunch of school kids you want to reform.

Mr Sullivan:  Because you’re leaving school.

Kenny:  With respect, sir, I don’t see what that’sgot to do with it.

Kerr:  I think what Mr Sullivan is trying to say isthat the Junior Gazette is, well, kind of a learning experience. It’s time foryou to get out there in the real world.

Lynda:  And that’s just what we intend to do. Kenny…

He takes up a folder and putsit down on the table.

Kenny:  Our proposal for the new Junior Gazette. Now,run it commercially, and make enough of a profit so that we can employ any ofthe current newsteam that wish to remain with us.

Lynda:  While you’re considering this, we willpublish one last edition of the current Junior Gazette, explaining thesituation and our intentions. And then close the paper – depending yourdecision.

Kerr:  Actually it’s not our decision.

Mr Sullivan:  (surprised) What?

Lynda:  Mr Campbell’s?

Kerr:  He owns the paper.

Lynda:  Then we go to him.

Mr Sullivan:  This is becoming ridiculous!

Kerr:  There’s a board meeting Friday evening. Isuppose you two can make your pitch then. I’ll try and arrange it.

Lynda:  Appropriate. Our last day of school.

Kenny:  And my gig.

Lynda:  Well I hardly think that matters! Cancel it!
