Lynda:  How many?

Lynda:  (incredulously) Are you telling me Colin,that you've spent Gazette money on a hundred thousand defective half ping-pongballs?

Colin: It was a bargain. Look,we're getting into the ground floor here. It's an investment, it's a whole newconcept in…

Lynda:  Balls! Colin, the ping-pong balls are yours,and the Farndale money is the Gazette's. And I expect it back. Clear? 


 
She walks away. 


 
Spike:  Well, that's a cinch. You'll be able to coverit in no problem. 

Colin:  Not quite as simply as that, Spike. I've gota temporary cash flow situation. 

Spike:  Yeah?

Colin:  Just a minute. Just a minute… Spike, have youhad a sort of a ringing in your ears, like a giant till?

Spike:  No.

Colin:  It wasn't a lapse, Spike. It was a moment ofpure genius, an inspiration!

Spike:  What are you talking about?

Colin:  I can sell them! I can sell the littlesuckers, they'll be the biggest craze since…my last one!

Spike:  What are you gonna sell defective halfping-pong balls as?

Colin:  What else? As a ping.
