[pressgang] Episode 5: A Night In

I was really looking forward to watching this with my eldest; it's one of
my favourite episodes from S1.
I felt:
- The Spike/Lynda banter seemed harsher than I remembered - properly
unpleasant. But then it becomes clear that Lynda is on edge from being
dumped so makes a bit more sense
- Already getting the sense that Spike is more of a people person than
Lynda - from actually caring about Sarah's wellbeing last week, to being
the bigger person and turning up for late duty this week
- Spike's show of temper - throwing papers to the floor - was brushed over
a little bit; that would be a red flag these days!
- Totally agreed with others - had to have an awkward conversation with my
9 year old about "apologising is what my dad things your wife does if you
hit her enough" - explained it was supposed to be a joke, but it's not
funny and it's really serious if that happens. (Blah, blah, insert
effective parenting here.)
- I wondered why late duty was necessary and what they were actually
supposed to achieve as they ostensibly did nothing
- Also the "Lynda's eyes are sweating" line from Tiddler - a weird
editorial touch to show Lynda quite clearly *not* crying/teary.
Eldest child:
- Loved, loved, loved Colin in his bunny suit
- Ditto spotting more Pings in Tiddler's earrings and Colin's bunny suit
- She was actually rolling around with laughter at the end credits when
Julie has seen a pink bunny that talks to her
