Hi Trav,

 

Good to hear from you. I remember you from back in the day when you were a more regular poster and I think we emailed for a while. Probably 20 years ago or so now – amazing how time has flown past. 

 

It has also been many years since I watched any Press Gang, though I do own the DVDs. But having Kevin’s Quote of the Day feels like it’s kind of keeping the PG spirit alive for me, even if I’m not doing any actual PG watching.

Hi everyone,

I haven't read any PGML emails for probably 1 year.

I disposed of my Press Gang VCR tapes about 5-6 years ago.

I haven't posted to the PGML for about 7-8 years.

I haven't watched a Press Gang episode for at least 10+ years. Probably 12+ years to be honest.

In short, it's been a rather long time since I engaged with this group or thought about Press Gang very much. I never really was a very dedicated watcher of episodes, didn't buy the DVDs, and the pandemic travel restrictions have thwarted sneaking into the houses of Press Gang actors and rummaging through their sock drawers. It's all really just the effect of time drifting away and other stuff getting in the way. You know how it is - so much stuff. Always important and never really important in the grand scheme of things but it gets in the way, regardless...

For whatever random reason, it popped into my head that I used to read the PGML. Skimming through the emails it looks like the amount of chatter is similarly reduced by many others, and probably many have unsubscribed or drifted away the same way I did. Hello, if you're out there and still reading this. It's such a loooooooong time ago that I got on the new-fangled email thingy in the mid 1990s and found that other people also watched the show.
