Lynda: You know what's funny? I used to have one of these when I was a kid. It used to sit on the shelf in my room. You know, it scared the living daylights out of me. I used to have nightmares about it. (off Sarah's look) Is something the matter?

Cut to the newsroom. Sarah and Lynda walk in.

Lynda:You're wrong - you must be!

Sarah:I've told you, your memory is playing tricks.

Lynda:It isn't, it can't be! This is so weird…

Sarah:Look, I've been trying to explain to you all day. Her husband did wood carvings.

Lynda:Yeah. Right. So?

Sarah:It was a hobby. He never made more than one of anything – that's a fact.

Lynda:But…

Sarah:You couldn't have had one of those because that's the only one there is! And for thirty-odd years it's been in the same house, on the same shelf probably.

Lynda:Until last month when the house was burgled.

Sarah:Exactly.

Lynda:Then now did it end up in my bedroom ten years before it was stolen?

Sarah:It didn't! I told you, your memory is playing tricks.

Lynda:(sighs) It isn't, you know. It really isn't!
